Emergency air transport is available when you need it most—when your life depends on getting to a medical facility as quickly as possible. But the price tag for such transport can be a staggering $8,000 to more than $18,000. That’s why more than 30,000 families have opted to join Air Life for just $50 a year. Members avoid all out-of-pocket air ambulance expenses (after insurance payment), allowing them to focus on getting well instead of getting a large medical-transport bill.

While Air Life flies anyone in medical need, member patients pay nothing for their flight if flown by Air Life or one of its reciprocal partners. Instead, Air Life bills the member’s insurance carrier and accepts that payment as full.

Who’s covered?
Household membership includes all persons who are permanent residents of the same single-family dwelling/noncommercial residence living together as part of a family unit, but not to include roomers or boarders. Membership benefits are also extended to include household members living in substitute care (e.g., nursing homes) within your city and district ambulance service areas.

The first person listed on the application form is designated as the “Primary Member.” Anyone who joins a household after the membership goes into effect can be included under the membership 72 hours from the date the “Primary Member” notifies us of the addition. Only those persons who meet the membership eligibility requirements and are listed in the membership record at the time services are rendered are eligible for benefits.

Gift membership

Business-sponsored membership
A great employee benefit, business-sponsored memberships are designed for businesses who wish to provide an added benefit to their employees, or the employees may pool their money for the memberships. These memberships, which cover the entire family, cost only $45 a year. Please call the Air Life Business Office at 1-800-353-0497 for more information or to sign up for a Business-sponsored Membership (not available on-line).

Lifetime membership
In addition to 12- and 24-month memberships, Air Life offers individual lifetime memberships for just $1,000. Such a membership is good for the life of the subscribing member, and can be transferred once.

Ground ambulance membership
Air Life also offers ground ambulance memberships in select communities (listed below) where it has partnerships with FireMed ground ambulance service providers. For only $50 a year, member families are covered by their local FireMed ambulance service as well as more than 65 FireMed ambulance services throughout Oregon, including:

Best value! Air/ground combo membership
For just $90 a year, consider an air/ground combo membership. The combo membership saves you $10 and offers the most protection—whether you need air or ground transport, you’ll have no out-of-pocket expenses.

Other benefits
Members receive membership cards, vehicle decals, and a subscription to Air Currents, an Air Life publication distributed three times per year offering riveting patient stories and helpful tips for staying safe and healthy.
